A-Level History Talk on Unionism – 24th January, 2018

St. Catherine’s College, Armagh hosted a Shared Education talk by Alex Kane.

Alex Kane is an Irish News and Newsletter columnist writer and gave the pupils present an insightful and interesting talk on Unionism. He also spoke of his experience as “Director of Communications” for the Ulster Unionist Party from 1998 to 2010.

This talk was attended by 75 A-Level Politics pupils from St. Catherine’s College, St. Patrick’s Grammar School and the Royal School, Armagh. Mr Kane spoke about Unionism from home rule to the current day.  He spoke of the challenges that Unionism now faces and how they might resolve these in the future.  He took part in a question and answer session with the pupils and was keen to hear from all present. It was an enjoyable afternoon for all our A-level pupils and they gained so much from hearing about Mr Kane’s political experience.
