On Tuesday 2nd October, we were given the chance to take part in the poetry workshop with St. Catherine’s College, St. Patrick’s Grammar and The Royal School, Armagh.
The trip took place in The Navan Centre and Fort. It was organised for National Poetry Week. The theme this year was ‘Change’.
We were given the chance to work with Maura Johnston. We took part in lots of fun activities.
We really enjoyed the Victorian school teacher who talked about the change in technology and the Nordic man. They were both so funny and engaging.
Following the event, we returned to school and got busy writing our poems. A poetry reading evening will be held in November to celebrate all the work we are completing, and winning poems will be selected from each school and published in a booklet.
